Trendy Twine ~ Happy New Year

Happy New Year's Eve!

Wow! It is the last day of 2016. Hard to believe that tomorrow is 2017 already. What a memorable year it was...lots of good and lots of losses. Looking forward to what 2017 brings!

Today the Trendy Twine Guest Designers are sharing  New Year's projects.

First, I cut the scalloped mat from MFT Blueprints 20 on my Cuttlebug. Then I used blue and metallic silver watercolor paints to create the background. Black and white paint was carefully splattered to keep near the center. I used my Cameo to cut the Happy New Year, which is from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons

The balloons are by Miss Kate Cuttables and the Blue Berry Twine can be purchased at Annie's Paper Boutique...Home of Trendy Twine.

For the second one...the MFT stitched mat is from Blueprints 15 and this Happy New Year is by Miss Kate Cuttables

Same balloons as the first card in silver and black. The Blue Berry twine is perfect with the colors from the watercolor background.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!
Hope 2017 brings you happiness, good health, and LOTS of time to craft.

How About Dinner?

Happy Friday Everyone!

The new year is just around the corner (which also means winter break is almost over...so sad). Are you thinking about any new year resolutions? Me...I need to start eating healthy again and cut down on the carbs. That is very challenging since I love pasta, bread, and pizza, but an easy way for me to lose a few pounds.

Anyone hungry ( I know I was just talking about losing weight, but I like to eat!)? How about dinner on me?!?! This girl chef is from Pizza Time by Too Cute by Jessica. I cut her out with my Cameo.

I used Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment set by Peachy Keen stamps. I used a little chalk to add some color to her eyes and cheeks.

I used Gift Cards Galore stamp set by Jaded Blossom for the sentiment. This is the perfect set for any occasion (birthdays, vacation, movies, food,  shopping, etc.) when you want to give a gift card.
Other Materials:
white, red, black, brown, and tan card stock
red plaid paper
Versafine Onyx Black ink
black gems

What is your favorite restaurant to receive a gift card for? Me...I like Olive Garden. Yum!

Happy New Year!

You Color My World at Paper Play Sketches

Hello Crafty Friends,

What a busy Winter Break it has been, which is why I am running a tad behind with my Paper Play Sketches Design Team post. We spent two days before Christmas repainting the master bathroom and during the last three days we have painted the interior of the kitchen, breakfast nook, and my craft area (suppose to be a family room). We had "stuff" moved all over, so getting to the computer at times was challenging. We are finally done..well...except for new valances for the wide window in my craft area. I still have a few pieces to put away, but it must wait until after a trip to Ikea tomorrow.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I wanted to make something cheerful and I had this rainbow that I had never used.

First I cut the MFT Zig Zag Stitched Oval die. Then I used watercolor to create the soft background. While the background was drying, I cut the Paper Smooches rainbow die 6 times in the various colors with my Cuttlebug. I cut the MKC clouds on my Cameo.

The sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Dream in Color stamp set. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

The chevron paper is by  Doodlebug Designs ~ Kraft in Color stack.

I alternated the gem color with the opposite background paper.

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Happy New Year!

I used My Favorite Things stitched circle and Merry Christmas word die. The ornament is a Spellbinders die. All three were cut with my Cuttlebug. Gold craft thread was used to create a small bow.  The pattern papers were in my scrap stash.
Challenges:
Use Your Stuff ~ Anything Goes Christmas
Cute Card Thursday ~ Anything Goes
Crafty Creations Ch. ~ Any Holiday

Hope you have a Merry Christmas! Can't wait to hear what type of crafting goodies you got!

A Chocolate Treat for a Chocoholic

Hello Everyone,

Happy Christmas Eve! Hard to believe there is only one day until Christmas Day. The time sure did fly by this year just as the day did. I made this card earlier, but started watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel and lost track of time. Those movies sure do keep you entranced. I think it's because they always have happy endings.

I used the following photo from Cupcake Inspirations to help choose the colors and  my die-cut and I used the  Stella Says Sketch for the layout.

The Valentine cupcake is from Miss Kate Cuttables. The background mat was embossed with a chevron folder and then flattened. I wanted a clean and simple look, but not too much texture. When there are too many bumps the paper doesn't seem to lay nicely.

The stamped sentiment is from Jaded Blossom ~ Chocoholic set. What a delicious set of fun sayings for anyone who LOVES chocolate (that is ME). I used Ranger Archival Ink ~ Potting Soil.
Other Challenges:

Lots to still do to be ready for Christmas celebrations that begin tonight.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas,
Georgiana

Calling Dog Lovers

Hello Everyone,

I was busy this morning with taking my daughter to PT and buying the dog a new pillow for Christmas. This afternoon I worked on lesson plans for the month of January which took a while to plan four different subjects. I have a little bit more I'd like to get finished, but I still have another week. I made some yummy dinner (doesn't happen often), then decided to get crafty.

Here is my project for today...
I pulled out my Jaded Blossom stamps and searched for dog svg files on my Cameo. After I found this nerdy dog, I knew I had to use him.

I used the following sketch from Sketch Saturday.

The Einstein dog is by Little Scraps of Heaven. I inked the edges with a little bit of black ink.

This stamp is part of the Dog-Gone Awesome stamp set by Jaded Blossom.
Other Challenges:

Wishing you a pleasant night. Hope you have almost everything done for Christmas.

You're a Classic Soda Pop

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by.  Today I am sharing the new challenge at Paper Play Sketches. Great way to combine a few challenges since you can choose any colors, theme, sentiment, etc.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I decided to take a break from holiday cards and make something for fun.

I used MFT soda pop bottles and a MFT pierced rectangle.

This circle die is part of MFT Blueprint 13. The sentiment is from Jaded Blossom ~ Soda-Lightful stamp set. I used Ranger Archival Ink ~ Potting Soil.

The inside coordinates with the cover.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Why Did the Reindeer Cross the Road?

Hello Diva Fans,

Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas, which actually answers my question...Why did the reindeer cross the road? What do you think? To get to the other side, to go find a hunky reindeer, or maybe to go shopping?

This Week's Challenge...
Santa or Reindeer

Here is my Design Team project...
The reindeer crossed the road to get to Santa and his sleigh. Unless you believe that commercial you see on TV with Santa and his Mercedes, reindeer still work with Santa.

I used a file from Miss Kate Cuttables for this cute girl reindeer.

I added Cherry glitter glue to her bow, a few stitched trees by MFT, clear Wink of Stella for the sparkling snow, and Recollections pattern paper for the background.

The sentiment is by Whimsical Designs ~ Snow Much Fun stamp set. I used Archival Ink by Ranger ~ Potting Soil.

I thought both reindeer were cute, which is why I made the two. I just couldn't decide on one.

Another Miss Kate Cuttables girl reindeer file.

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Santa or Reindeerchallenge. The other design team members did an amazing job preparing for Santa's visit.

Happy Holidays!

What Have You Always Wanted?

Hello Everyone!

Being on Winter Break is a joyous time. I have been able to walk with my friend for the past two mornings, I trimmed some overgrown plants after that, I have made a list of house tasks that need to be completed, we looked at a TLC house for my son (he wants a fixer up for his first house/investment), and I was able to get crafty! What a day! I hope every day is this productive.

Here is today's project...
I made twin scalloped gift bags by Lori Whitlock that I cut on my Cameo. The pattern paper is by Bo Bunny ~ Holly Jolly Dots, the stitched circle die is by MFT, and the red tulle was in my stash along with the ribbon used for the handles.

The stamped sentiment is by My Favorite Things ~ Gifting Fun stamp set.

Doesn't every one want coal for Christmas? I thought it was a good gag gift. Of course, I would not give this alone! What are the top three crafting supplies you want for Christmas? I want Ken Oliver's Color BurstGansai Tambi watercolors, and lots of MFT dies.
Challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful week.
Happy Holidays,
Georgiana

Merry Christmas at Paper Play Sketches #26

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by.  Today I am sharing the new challenge at Paper Play Sketches even though it started on Wednesday.  That means YOU still have time to join the challenge. Great way to combine a few challenges since you can choose any colors, theme, sentiment, etc.

This Week's Challenge...

Here is my Design Team project...
I am liking this CAS design. I was going to do a bunch of "thank you" cards, but decided against that because I still have holiday cards to send out.

The pattern paper is by Recollections ~ North Pole Gazette stack. I used a MFT die for the sentiment and cut it with my Cuttlebug.

I distressed the edges with the Zutter Distrezz it All tool. The green enamel dots that I found in my stash are by Teresa Collins ~ Santa's list pack.

The inside coordinates with the cover.
Other Challenges:

Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Be sure to visit the other Design Team members to see how they interpreted the sketch.

Happy Holidays!

Greetings from a Crafter's Cookie...a Cookie?

Hello Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by at Carson's Creations! Today I am sharing If you Give a Crafter a Cookie's new challenge. These are quite creative challenges...you have a picture of a cookie (yes a cookie) and you use it as inspiration to create your project....a card, a layout, a tag, a gift bag...anything! The challenge actually started yesterday, but I didn't want to double post with my Jaded Blossom GD spot. You have two weeks, so you have plenty of time to join us!

This Week's Challenge...
That cardinal sure is lovely!

Here is my Design Team project...
I am loving the white wood background with the red.

The sentiment is by Bug Bites ~ Glad Tidings stamp set. I masked off the first part of the stamp.

The cardinal is by Miss Kate Cuttables. The file is called Red Christmas bird. I omitted the hat.

Hope you will join us at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie this week for our "Photo Inspirationchallenge. The other design team members  all interpreted the picture differently, so go check it out!

I need to also announce a winner for the Joy to Holiday Giving Hop...Janis Lewis
Congratulations!

Happy Holidays!
