That's Amazing

Hello Friends,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by! It's the last day of school (time to declutter the classroom) and then a few days of training. Looking forward to crafting everyday, ALL day! I even plan on joining Sharon and Rachelle for a June challenge.

Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I hope you will join us this week!

This Week's Challenge...
Anything Goes with Die-Cuts

Here is my Design Team project...
I have been quite mesmerized by Kay Miller's work at My Joyful Moments and I decided to use one of her cards (see here) as inspiration. She uses watercolor quite often and I hope to get my colors to blend so they look as good as hers.

The flowers and leaves are  My Favorite Things (MFT) Circle Scribble Flowers. I water-colored the flowers and leaves, then stamped them with Versafine's Black Onyx  ink.

I used a new MFT die that I bought Saturday when I went to the shop in Eustis for a class. Amazing was cut in black glitter foam (bought mine at Hobby Lobby). It was easy to cut and it adds dimension with the one layer.
Other Challenges:

PDE Linky Party ~ Anything Goes

Have a great week!

Nerdy Apple Says Thanks

Hello Everyone,

Happy Sunday! I hope you have been enjoying your weekend and have another day off to relax. We went to Universal Studios this morning, then shopping at the Outlets. I got a new pair of sneakers and a few t-shirts...nice way to start summer. I plan on riding my bike and walking every day, so I can lose a few pounds before the new school year.

Today I am sharing a few thank you cards I made for my students. I plan on mailing them Tuesday and I bet they will be surprised to get something in the mailbox.

I used the nerdy apple from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I used foam squares by ki/Hampton Art to add dimension.

I used some scrap papers for the background/layers, which is why some are polka dots, some are stripes, and another is gingham. I have a mountain of scraps that I plan on using throughout June.

A couple of my apples have teeth and the others don't. Which do you like better?

Thanks was cut from a Paper Smooches die with my Cuttlebug.

Happy early Memorial Day,

Student's Last Day of School

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today is our student's last day before they head off to middle school in August and we have a fun day planned for them. We are going to the park and they get to play games, swing, dance, eat pizza, and have ice cream. Then we head back to school for our traditional 5th grade walk through the halls.

This nerdy girl says...let's get this day started, so I can begin my summer vacation!

The nerdy girl file is by SVG Cutting Files. I just love her glasses! Since she is carrying a pencil, I thought she should have a notebook (it's a button) to do some journaling.

The stamped sentiment is by Craftin' Desert Diva ~ School Zone set.

I used a notebook punch along the top and then added yellow skittles by Carri.
Challenges:

I have to go back to school on Tuesday to finish cleaning the class, but I am ready to enjoy a little time off too. Summer vacation is calling my name!

It's Retirement Time!

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

I made these cards early this morning for a teacher at school who is retiring after 36 years in education. We had a special luncheon to celebrate all her years of service.

I used My Favorite Things ~ Blueprint 20, stitched circle, and scribble roses. Turquoise Stickles were applied to the rose overlay.

The sentiment is computer generated and black sequins were scattered around.
Challenges:

The second one is simple, just as retirement should be. I added a big yellow organza bow and yellow sparkle skittles.
This teacher has only a couple more days with students and then it is time for her to relax and enjoy. I still have MANY years before I can retire, but I sure do think about it. I look forward to traveling, crafting, and being leisurely. What do you want to do when you retire?

Summer Birthday

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday!

Tomorrow is the BIG day! My daughter graduates high school and then she is off to college (University of North Florida) next month for summer session.
I took the day off, which hardly happens, so we could have a mother/daughter day. I told her to pick what she wanted to do and she said Universal Studios. Fun! Fun! Fun!

I also want to remind everyone that Paper Play Sketches has a new sketch this week.

Here is another card I created as requested by a co-worker.

The flip flops are from Miss Kate Cuttables. The stamped sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ More Mini Messages.
Hoping you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketches challenge. Now I am off to get ready for a fabulous day with my daughter!

Celebrate Mom at Miss Kate Cuttables

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by. I am on field trip today with our 5th grade class...we are in Orlando at Epcot. One of my favorite places! It is quite educational with all the different pavilions, the countries, and technology. The students should learn a lot while enjoying themselves! Today I also want to  share the new challenge at Miss Kate Cuttables...remember a free file everyday!

This Month's Challenge is...
Mom

Here is my Design Team project...
My mom passed away very unexpectedly just over 5 years ago, so my hubby's mom is all I have left. I made this special card for her! We gave it to her on Sunday and she loved it.

First, I cut the Fancy card base (SVG Cutting Files). Then, I used Tim Holtz distress inks and water color paper to create the background. I cut the Miss Kate Cuttables Mother's Day title with my Cameo.

The flower was outlined with turquoise Stickles.
Hope you will join us at Miss Kate Cuttables for "Mom. The other design team members did a marvelous job with this one. Be sure to check out ALL the variety!

Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy Your Vacation

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday!

Welcome back to Carson's Creations . Today is my day to post at Miss Kate Cuttables. Before I share my design team project,  I want to remind you there is a free file that you can download every day. YES! Every day a new and different one. Be sure to get yours today!

Today's Freebie...Click Here

Here is my Design Team project...
I created this card for a co-worker that is going on a cruise as soon as school is over. What a vacation! I am sure she is going to enjoy the 7 day Caribbean cruise! I know I would be soaking up the sun.

I used the cruise ship file. I cut it on my Cameo in red, white, and a few shades of blue. The background was created with Tim Holtz distress inks (faded jeans, salt ocean, tumbled glass, mustard seed, and squeezed lemonade) and watercolor paper.

The stamped sentiment  by Jaded Blossom (Gift Cards Galore set) expresses my thoughts perfectly! I enjoyed my last cruise, so I hope my friend does too!

Miss Kate Cuttables has LOTS of files to choose from, so check them out.

I have had this pattern paper in my stash for while and saved it because once you cut it you don't have it any more. I love the bold colors and pretty flowers. I wasn't sure about adding the lace at first, but decided to keep it. I wanted a feminine touch. What do you think?

The trio of flowers is part of a svg file from KaDoodle Bug Design ~ Irish Sheep. The sentiment thanks was cut with my Cricut Expression ~ "Just Because" Cards cartridge.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the Paper Play Sketch challenge. Be sure to visit the design Team members since there is a wide variety of inspiration!
