An Early Boo!

Hello Crafty Friends,

Carri and I have been at it again...searching for challenges. The type you can pile on and we sure did find a bunch. It is awesome when all the challenges work nicely together.

October 1st is tomorrow, which is a perfect time for monsters. My daughter and husband are already making plans to scare the trick or treaters as they come to our front door on Halloween. It should be interesting.

Falling for You

Hello Crafty Friends,

I just love when Carri and I can work out some mutual crafting time, especially since our schedules are so hectic now. She is volunteering in her daughter's class, so she has been grading lots of papers and understands what I go through every day. I told her I would wake up early and have my stack (I even sent her a picture so she would feel bad for me.) done before she gets up since we are in different time zones. We were able to find some fall challenges with leaves, which was perfect since it is my favorite season.
This tree is very intricate, but the branches are perfect for autumn.
This is a Studio G stamp. I bought it on clearnace last year and I am very surprised how nicely it stamped.
Materials:
My Mind's Eye paper ~ All Spice 6x6 stack
brown card stock
"Just Because " Cards ~ circles cut at 3 1/4" and 3"
Heritage Cricut cartridge ~ tree (p. 24) cut at 2 1/2"
Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge ~ leaves (p. 115) cut at 1"
Create a Critter Cricut cartridge ~ pumpkin (p. 70) cut at 1/2"
cappaccino twine
brown gems
Studio G stamp

3 Months Till Christmas Hop / Challenge

  Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is the 25th of the month, which means it is time for our Christmas countdown. There are now 3 months till Santa's arrival. I took last month off from the hop so I am behind by a couple cards, but I am sure there will be more time and challenges (see below) to make holiday cards.

Here are my Christmas cards...
~ Die-Cut ~
Materials:
Heidi Grace paper ~ Jolly
white card stock
"Just Because" Cards Cricut cartridge ~ gingerbread (p. 58) cut at 5 1/4"
green ribbon
green gems
wiggly eyes

~ Digi/Stamp ~
Materials:
Bo Bunny paper ~ St Nick Toyland
gold card stock
Recollections holiday stamps
gold ink
gold ribbon
gold gems

 A Christmas Challenge:
You will have one week to create two holiday cards...one using a die-cut and another card using a stamp or digi. You may choose any color, sketch, or combine with other challenges, but please post both cards together. One winner will be picked randomly and announced Wednesday, October 3rd. The prize will be a variety of crafting goodies...Oooh, I love surprises! Have you seen all the crafting goodies at the stores already? Hobby Lobby has aisles full of ornaments, trees, stickers, etc.

Here is this month's line-up...

If you are interested in joining next month, just leave a comment. You will feel quite relieved knowing you are getting your holiday cards done in advance and you can spend all that extra time with the family instead when it is most important.

Now hop on over to see what Sara has made for this month's holiday cards.

Come Home Soon

 Hello Crafty Friends,

So glad you stopped by again. I am setting a goal to craft everyday for one hour and do less school work while I am at home. Wish me luck!

There is a new challenge at Exploring Cricut today.
The Challenge:  Transportation

Here is my Exploring Cricut project...
I think this old fashion bicycle is neat looking, but I am not sure how comfortable it was. It looks like you need a ladder to get on the seat.
I sure do miss my son when he is away at college and this sentiment is meant for him, but I surely do not want him to ride his bike home. It is a 2 hour car ride, so I can't imagine how long it would take on a bike (especially one like this).

I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch (challenge is already closed).
Materials:
Glitz Design paper ~ Happy Travels Stripes and World
My Mind's Eye teal paper
white card stock
Heritage Cricut cartridge ~ bike1 (p. 49) cut at 2"
Desitnations Cricut cartridge ~ ovals cut at 2 1/2 - 2 1/4"
brown ribbon
brown buttons
teal gems
Spellbinders ~ Beaded Ovals
My Pink Stamper ~ Itty Bitty-licious stamp
brown ink

Hope you will join the Exploring Cricut challenge this week.

That's Spooky

Hello Crafty Friends,

Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday. Olive Garden was super yummy and I went for a short bike ride with my daughter this morning on my new bicycle. She got tired before me, so I think next time I might be on my own. I'll see if I can convince her to travel a little further. I think I can be quite persuasive sometimes.

I decided to make a Halloween card this afternoon using the CPS sketch.
The sentiment is an Eposxy sticker...reminded of some ooey gooey solution that would come out of a witch's cauldron.
I love using sketches. No one's card ever looks the same even those you start with the same layout.

Materials:
Echo Park paper ~ Apothecary Emporium
black card stock
October 31st Cricut cartridge ~ cauldron  cut at 2"
orange gems
Recollections stickers

Other Challenges:

Be sure to come back tomorrow for Exploring Cricut's new challenge. Here is the prize...

I am Having Some Birthday Fun Today

Good Morning,

Not only is today my Exploring Cricut Design Team day, but it is my birthday. I am feeling quite content, especially after I had a student tell me I only looked 25 yesterday. I guess we do not all look like crypt keepers to 9 year olds. : ) What are the plans? Olive Garden and going to pick out a bicycle. Then  I might actually get a little more time to craft. Oh, how I have missed the paper, the gems, the buttons, the dies...

Here is my Exploring Cricut project...
I have been wanting to use a cow to make a card for some time, but have never found the right reason.

Materials:
KI paper ~ Over the Rainbow collection (Leafy and Inkjyet)
black, white, and kraft card stock
Create a Critter Cricut cartridge ~ cow (p. 60) cut at 3" and balloons (p. 30) cut at 2" and 2 1/4"

My Pink Stamper birthday stamp ~ Itty Bitty-licious

A Happy Birthday with Little Hippo

Wow!
What a great day already. I have been super busy this morning and I still have more to do on "the list". My list is going to be all about crafting today. I want to get to visiting everyone and chatting with those I have missed. I need to work on sending e-mails too. I have a ton I need to respond to. Sorry for the delay, but you will hear from me soon.

I made this card last night, but was nodding off before I could finish the post. I wanted to make sure everything made sense and was spelled correctly before sharing. I am hoping the pictures looks bright enough since I took them late.
Isn't she too cute in purple and yellow? My favorite is the gift bag on her tail.
Materials:
Bo Bunny paper ~ Sun Wash Calico (yellow)
Creative Imaginations paper (purple)
white card stock
Create-a-Critter Cricut cartridge ~ hippo (p. 44) cut at 2 1/4", gift bag (p. 30) cut at 1 1/4", and sentiment (p.27) cut at 1"

wiggly eyes

I am quite thrilled since I was able to pile on 8 different challenges.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Have a FABULOUS day! I am off to get some more crafting done. How exciting! Hoping there are a bunch of new challenges posted already.

Happy 12th Birthday

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

It sure has been a hectic month, but I woke up today and I felt refreshed. I worked on lesson plans for the next two weeks and can actually map out a long term plan now. YEAH! That means I am finally to that point where I will be able to return to crafting. The couple of projects that I have been posting have been on pre-post, so I am ready to tackle a few new challenges and return to my Design Team commitments. I have a few prizes that I will also mail either today or Monday. SORRY for the delay! I haven't seen a post office in quite some time.

Today's Exploring Cricut project...
I made this card for the school secretary's niece. She requested a card suitable for a pre-teen and the birthday girl's favorite color is green. Did you happen to count the gems? There are 12 of them too.
Materials:
pattern papers were from scrap box
black card stock
Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge ~ balloons and Happy Birthday
Plantin SchoolBook ~ name and age
green ribbon
black gems
black craft thread

Be sure to stop by Exploring Cricut on Monday for a new challenge.
